19 And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fish for people.”Mathew 4:19
Many months ago, when I was in the deepest depth of despair in my walk with Jesus, I recall asking Him to lead me into deeper faith and commitment. I was dissatisfied and spiritually restless until I chanced upon the “Explaining the Faith” Series by Father Chris from The National Shrine of Divine Mercy, and “The Journey Home” series from EWTN – both available on YouTube.
This was the beginning of my journey into the Catholic Faith.
Jesus called me, “Follow me”, the old me was transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit through a renewed conversion.
Today I am going through the process of becoming a Catholic (I have documented this in past post). It has transformed my journey with Christ. I feel His hand guiding me and chipping away at my human imperfections. I see His hands remolding me to become the person He meant me to be. Praise be to God!
My prayer life has transformed, and I feel a deepen fellowship with Jesus.
I have also become a “pray warriors” and praying daily for those around me, and for the salvation of those who do not know our Lord Jesus Christ. I sincerely rejoice in His blessings of grace and mercy which pours down upon me. It is a free gift for all mankind. I am moved to ask for this same grace and mercy to pour forth upon all in our world.
I want to take the time today to remember Father Seraphim Michalenko, Mic Stockbride, Massachusetts, 1930 – 2021. He passed away today after being sick for the past month. Through his work and devotion, we have the translated version of the Dairy of Saint Maria Faustina Kowatska and the Divine Mercy. For this I am very thankful, for when I started my journey within the Catholic faith, I prayed to Jesus for my guardian saint. I was lead by His hand to St. Faustina via the National Shrine of Divine Mercy. All the congregation here along with the Fathers, Seminarians, and all the members who pray world wide has become a part of my Spiritual family. Today, I grieve with sadness and am also joy upon hearing of Father Seraphim’s passing. Father Seraphim is with Saint Faustina. He is in Heaven. May God Bless his soul. Rest In Peace Father Seraphim.
Today’s Mass was dedicated to Father Seraphim:
