Reflections on faith, hope, and the quiet journey with Christ

This morning I made a short video for my song “Echoes / Still Here” — a spoken-word piece with images, tracing the journey from dark valleys into light.

I wrote this song as a reflection on God’s faithfulness through seasons of fear, uncertainty, and healing. It draws its inspiration from Psalm 23, where the valley of shadows gradually gives way to green pastures and still waters. Yet healing is rarely the absence of memory — the echoes of past struggles often remain, even as grace continues its quiet work within us.

The imagery of flowers, butterflies, and light was inspired in part by St. Thérèse of Lisieux’s vision of God’s garden, where every flower reflects His love in its own unique way. The rainbow serves as a reminder of God’s covenant and enduring presence.

At its heart, this song is not about escaping darkness, but about discovering that even amid lingering echoes, we are never abandoned.

Still here. Still becoming. Still held.

If you are walking through your own valley today, I hope this song reminds you of one thing: you don’t have to be finished to be held. Grace is doing its quiet work in you, even now.

  1. I love the piece. This reminds me of time we re in doubt of a situation or dont know what to do at a critical moment.. and the only person we turn to is our maker

    1. Thank you so much. ❤️ Much of what I write comes from that same place—those moments when we don’t have the answers, when we’re uncertain what to do or where the road is leading. I think there is something deeply human in that space, and I’m grateful this piece spoke to you there.
