A Stronger Me In My Own Existence

On Christmas Eve, Father Joy’s homily touched upon the essence of the season. He recounted the story of a lonely woman who has spent many Christmases alone. With no family or friends to spend Christmas with, she prayed for a visit from the Holy Family. In a dream the night before Christmas, Jesus told her his family will visit.

In a frenzy the next day, she cleaned her home, and prepared a feast in anticipation of their visit. She waited by the window, and saw a haggard vagabond family of three approaching her home. She quickly went out and shoo them away. “Go away!”

That night full of disappointment, she asked Jesus why he and his family never came by. Jesus replied, “I did, but you chased my family away!”

As we celebrate this wonderful day with our family, friends, or that stranger that passes by us, let us remember the humble beginnings of our Holy Family.

Let us be also be filled with the welcoming spirit of Jesus Christ – love and charity.

God Bless 💕🙏
