Today, I immerse myself anew in the radiant truth of 1 John 1 (Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition). Here, the beloved apostle John ignites our souls with his eyewitness testimony: he heard, saw, and touched the eternal Word of Life—Jesus Christ, the Light who shattered the darkness! He pours out these sacred words not merely to inform, but to draw us into divine communion—fellowship with the Father, with His Son Jesus, and with one another in a joy that overflows and completes us!
1 John 1:1–4 (RSCE)
That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon and touched with our hands, concerning the word of life—the life was made manifest, and we saw it, and testify to it, and proclaim to you the eternal life which was with the Father and was made manifest to us—that which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you, so that you may have fellowship with us; and our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ. And we are writing this that our joy may be complete.
Beloved, we are invited to walk boldly in the blazing light of Christ! Yet in humility, John reminds us:
1 John 1:8 (RSCE)
If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
But oh, the glorious promise that sets our hearts ablaze!
1 John 1:9 (RSCE)
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just, and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
And once more, a clarion call to authenticity:
1 John 1:10 (RSCE)
If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
Rise up, dear friends! Walk humbly in His radiant light, confess with courageous faith, and soar in the boundless ocean of His faithful, just, and transforming forgiveness! Let this truth propel you today—you are cleansed, you are loved, you are His!
God Bless 🙏💕
