A Stronger Me In My Own Existence

Lenten Journal: Walking Toward the Cross

A collection of reflections written during Lent — moments of prayer, questions of the heart, and quiet encounters with Christ along the road to the Cross.

These reflections were not written in sequence or according to a plan. They emerged slowly — like seeds planted in the heart — and were written as inspiration arrived.

When gathered together, they form a small journal of the soul walking toward the Cross.

“If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.”

Gospel of Luke 9:23

Each year during Lent, Christians are invited to slow down, reflect, and walk spiritually with Christ toward the Cross.

This Lenten Journal gathers together a series of reflections written during this sacred season — moments of prayer, questions of the heart, and quiet insights that emerged along the way.

Some reflections were written in silence inside a cathedral.

Others came during moments of disappointment, healing, or late-night prayer.

Lent reminds us that transformation rarely happens all at once. It unfolds slowly — through repentance, forgiveness, truth, and grace.

Together these reflections trace a small spiritual path:

truth → repentance → forgiveness → renewal

As we walk toward the Cross, we trust that beyond it waits the light of the Resurrection.

“If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.”

Gospel of Luke 9:23

Closing Reflection

Lent is not only a season of sacrifice.

It is also a season of unveiling — when God gently reveals the places in our hearts that still need healing.

Each step toward the Cross invites us to release something:

a burden, a wound, a fear, or a false certainty.

Yet we do not walk this road alone.

Christ walks it with us.

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”

Gospel of John 1:5
