Rejoice and Praise

Reflections on faith, hope, and the quiet journey with Christ

The sound of lapping waves.
No books.
No teaching.
No need to produce.

Just stillness.

“Be still, and know that I am God.”
— Psalms 46:10

The cry of seagulls overhead,
the steady rhythm of water meeting shore—
a quiet that does not demand anything from me.

The sky stretches wide as the sun lowers,
clouds forming a tapestry no hand could recreate.
Before me, Georgian Bay—vast, unhurried, certain.

Along the shore, fragments of time remain—
stone shaped by years,
fossils pressed into place,
evidence of what endures
when the waves do not cease.

“He has made everything beautiful in its time.”
— Ecclesiastes 3:11

I have been moving too quickly.

Even knowing He is with me,
I have not taken the time
to sit with Him.

To be present.
To listen.

To choose stillness over motion.

“Mary has chosen the better part…”
— Gospel of Luke 10:42

So I step away.

From the rhythm of work,
the structure of routine,
the quiet pull to always be doing.

Not to escape—
but to return.

Morning opens with water before me.
Night closes with waves at rest.

Even the storms—
thunder rolling,
lightning breaking across the sky—
speak of order, not chaos.

“The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of His hands.”
— Psalms 19:1

And here, something shifts.

Not outwardly—
but within.

The need to strive loosens.
The constant motion settles.

I remember that His presence
is not something I carry lightly through a busy day,
but something I am invited to remain in.

“Come away by yourselves to a quiet place and rest a while.”
— Gospel of Mark 6:31

Here, I am not producing.
I am not reaching.

I am simply with Him.

And in that—
I am reset.

God Bless 🙏❤️
