This blog began as something deeply personal.
I first started writing as a way to reflect on my spiritual journey — a record of my walk with God that I hoped one day to leave behind for my children.
My husband and I adopted both of our children as babies when we were in our early to mid-forties. Before they came into our lives, we prayed for many years for the blessing of children. I was unable to conceive, yet through prayer and faith we believed that God would open a path for us.
When our children finally arrived, we understood them not simply as our own, but as gifts entrusted to us by God.
Scripture reminds us:
“Children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.”
— Psalm 127:3
Receiving them later in life deepened our sense of responsibility and gratitude. Our desire was simple: to offer our gift back to God by being the best parents we could be.
To do this, we shaped our family life intentionally. My husband worked nights while I worked days so that one of us would always be present at home. I also chose to teach full-time with young children rather than pursue part-time teaching at the college or university level. While academic work was intellectually appealing, the uncertainty and competitiveness of those positions did not align with the stability our family needed.
Like many parents, we quietly reordered our lives around the vocation of raising children.
Over time, writing became more than a private reflection. It also became a creative outlet — a place where I could share my love of art, poetry, and literature. These creative threads have accompanied my faith journey, helping me express ideas that sometimes feel difficult to capture in ordinary language.
As the years passed, both my writing and my spiritual life deepened. My journey with God has continued to evolve through lived experience — as a mother, a teacher, and a Catholic seeking to understand the world while remaining grounded in faith.
At its heart, this blog reflects my desire to grow into a better version of myself within God’s creation.
Faith is not a static destination but a continual movement of the heart toward truth, humility, and grace. Like many believers, I wrestle with questions, reflect on the challenges of our modern culture, and seek to discern where God is leading.
Here I share reflections on faith, culture, conscience, and the interior life — often through small moments of everyday experience.
Some posts arise from prayer.
Others from personal encounters, disappointments, joys, or quiet insights that surface unexpectedly.
I write freely and honestly about what I observe and what I am learning along the way.
My hope is that these reflections may offer encouragement to others who are also searching for meaning, truth, and spiritual clarity in a noisy world.
Over time, something unexpected happened.
What began as a personal record for my children slowly grew into a conversation with readers from around the world. Today the blog has reached over 50,000 views, and continues to connect with readers across many countries.
For that, I am deeply grateful.
Yet the heart of this blog remains the same as when it first began: a quiet attempt to listen for God, to reflect on life with honesty, and to pass on what wisdom I can to the next generation.
As Scripture reminds us:
“One generation shall praise your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts.”
— Psalm 145:4
If these reflections help even one person pause, reflect, and draw a little closer to God, then this small effort will have served its purpose.
And perhaps one day my children will read these pages and better understand the journey their mother walked with faith, hope, and love.
