An alert for prayers was sent out in the Christian community:
“PAKISTAN Muslims tear a cross from a church in Punjab and set the building on fire over alleged ‘blasphemy’ The thugs also beat Christian families and ransacked their houses.”

Each day we will see more persecutions of Christians around the world. In the West, to be a Catholic is already hard, as we are often mocked for being conservative or worse, the alt “right.” When we love and lend a hand, it’s often met with skepticism and suspicion.
I am sadden by this report. When I think of my fellow brothers and sisters in another part of the world facing violence for their faith, I feel helpless. Let each of us offer a prayer for God’s hand to protect them. Let’s pray for peace and understanding that can go beyond borders.
