A Stronger Me In My Own Existence

“Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the whole world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God. … A thousand years in your sight are like a day that has just gone by, or like a watch in the night.” – Psalms 90:2,4

I can’t believe that it is almost mid July. We already past the 6 months mark of 2024.

Is it because I am getting older? Has my sense of time changed? When I was a child time was too slow! Alas, from a child’s standpoint, time without the stress and mores of adulthood and its effect upon our body and mind is slow.

Perhaps it’s because I am aging – soon to be an official senior. As I look beyond the what ifs or the why’s, time and my perception of time is moving faster. Days rolling into days and seamlessly rolling onto the other. Time moving so swiftly my memories fade into a cloudy stratosphere of dazed surreal vagueness – vanishing into the crevices for forgetfulness.

The past two weeks, I consciously took myself out of my routine to help me realign and reconnect with God, my soul and time.

“But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” – 2 Peter 3:8-9

Prayer and faith are my foundation, and my weapon is my praise to my God, for He has been good to me. Even when I have fallen into the darkest crevice of my life, God has called me back with His love.

You are good to me even in my darkest moments, and when I am good, I feel the power of your love radiating outwards.

Yes time moved quickly – and I am blessed to have you in my life. Praise be to God.
