A Stronger Me In My Own Existence

As I finished reading James 5 this morning, its words struck me with hope and conviction. The chapter boldly declares that those who hoard wealth by exploiting the vulnerable will face divine justice. Their gold and silver will corrode, their fine garments will be eaten by moths, and the cries of the laborers they cheated will reach God’s ears (James 5:2-4). This promise of accountability reminds me that God hears the oppressed and will not let injustice prevail.

James calls the faithful to respond with prayer and praise—those who are cheerful should sing, and those who suffer should pray, for the prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective (James 5:13, 16). This truth urges us to remain steadfast, like Job, resisting the temptation to fall into sin or corruption (James 5:11). Heavenly rewards far outweigh the fleeting luxuries gained through human suffering.

This message resonates deeply as I reflect on the lives of righteous individuals like Charlie Kirk and Yu Menglong. Both men, known for their kindness and generosity—Yu Menglong notably donating his earnings from the film industry—faced tragic ends at the hands of corrupt systems. Their stories highlight the cost of walking the narrow path in a world often driven by greed and power.

May James 5 inspire us to live with integrity, to pray fervently, and to trust in God’s justice. Let us hold fast to faith, knowing that He hears our cries and will make all things right (Psalm 10:17-18). May we walk the narrow path with courage, shining His light until His kingdom comes.

Amen.
