Reflections on faith, hope, and the quiet journey with Christ

Some songs arrive as prayers. Let Go arrived as a reckoning — with guilt, with worry, with the fear that a difficult conversation had caused a hurt I couldn’t take back.

It grew out of the complicated emotions of a mother-daughter relationship: a hard conversation, followed by guilt and worry and the dread of having caused pain. I braced myself for a confrontation that, in the end, never came. And in that quiet aftermath, I saw something clearly — how easily we keep carrying burdens long after life itself has moved on.

This song is about making amends where we can, accepting what we cannot repair, and allowing grace to help us finally let go.

Let Go releases February 3, 2027. Here are the lyrics — for anyone still holding something heavy that was never theirs to carry:

Verse 1

We sit and make confession, searching for the words to say,
holding every old regret as if it happened yesterday.
We brace ourselves for judgment, for the anger we might find —
but sometimes what we fear the most is living in our mind.

Pre-Chorus

We can hold the pain so tightly that the pain becomes our home.
Sometimes guilt can bind us long after grace has called us on.

Chorus

Let go, let go — you don’t have to carry everything.
Let go, let go — you were never meant to hold it all.
Life keeps moving, grace keeps calling, there is still a road ahead.
Let go of all the heavy burdens living only in your head.

Verse 2

We replay every conversation, every silence, every word,
imagining the worst conclusion long before it can be heard.
While somewhere in an ordinary morning someone laughs and makes their plans —
life goes on without our permission, moving gently through our hands.

Bridge

Not every wound will need an answer, not every hurt will disappear.
Not every silence means rejection, not every distance means they’re near.
Make amends where you are able, speak the truth and do your part —
then leave what you cannot repair in the mercy of His heart.

Final Chorus

Let go, let go — you don’t have to carry everything.
Let go, let go — open up your hands and breathe.
Life keeps moving, grace is present, even in the ordinary day.
Let go of all the heavy burdens you were never meant to save.

Outro

What I feared was waiting for me wasn’t waiting there at all.
Life had simply kept on moving, and grace was asking me to let go.
