A friend asked me to read the Book of Obidah (Vision of Obidah) and give my thoughts. As I had just read an interview with Xavier Reyes-Ayra, and his overview from a European prospective of the Israeli and Hamas conflict, the first thought that came to mind was not only of the “sins of the father,” but the hate, pride and arrogance passed onto future generations thereafter.
I surmised to my friend that it all started with Abraham and Sarah (Genesis 16). Sarah’s hate for Hagar and her new born – Ishmael with whom God promised would lead a nation (Islam).
This was the start of the great divide, and of an innate divide between the tribe of Issac and Ishmael. This theme of hate and arrogance continues with Issac and his sons, fraternal twins – Esau and Jacob (Genesis 25: 19-34). It is a story of birth right and the continuation of the “sins of the father. Jacob cunningly purchased Esau’s birthright, and hence a continuation of ancient patriarchal hatred, dissent, pride and claims of legitimacy.
This is what the Book of Obidah foresees. It is what is happening now between Israel and Hamas (whose backing is not only Iran, but an alliances which includes Saudi Arabia, China, Russia, and North Korea). There is looming threat of a third world war. I believe we are at the tip of it. Those grievances of old no longer held in check. This present conflict between Israel Hamas also recalls many Marian Apparitions and personal prophecies, ie., Fatima and the coming chastisement.
How do I manoeuvre in this world with a growing hatred of Christians? How do I warn others of a chastisement that’s literally around the corner. How do I stay focused on Jesus and stay out of all the conflicts? Of not being drawn into geopolitics and power-play? How do I discern the push for gender ideology, legitimization of abortion and euthanasia, and a divided church (traditionalist vs a non definitive Vatican II)?
All I can say is that for peace to reign in our world, we can only look to Jesus’ teachings,
“The first is, ‘Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God, the Lord is one; 30 you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” (Mark 12: 28-31)

The Beatitudes
(Matthew 5:3-12)
He said:
3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
5 Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they will see God.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Yes, there is much conflicts in the world, and yes, a world war is in the horizon. Let us all pray for peace and understanding between all of us. We are all imago dei, and each person deserves respect regardless of our differences. That is our God given birthright.
Jesus taught us how to live by example. He spoke of love and kindness which he modelled through his actions.
The reality is – we are in a Spiritual War. we must manoeuvre through this and focused on Jesus. Yes, it’s hard to love the unloveable, but with the Holy Spirit working with us and guiding us, there is hope for humanity.
Jesus stood outside of geopolitics and religious power-play. He walked this earth as one of us, and pointing us to the Father. Jesus helped the downtrodden. This is also what we are called to do. To look beyond the political sphere and help those in need, regardless of their race, gender and belief. We are all created in God’s image and deserve respect.
Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi (Prayer for Peace) ☮️
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace:
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.
O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Pope Francis’ Prayer For Peace ☮️
Lord God of peace, hear our prayer!
We have tried so many times and over so many years to resolve our conflicts by our own powers and by the force of our arms. How many moments of hostility and darkness have we experienced; how much blood has been shed; how many lives have been shattered; how many hopes have been buried… But our efforts have been in vain.
Now, Lord, come to our aid! Grant us peace, teach us peace; guide our steps in the way of peace. Open our eyes and our hearts, and give us the courage to say: “Never again war!”; “With war everything is lost”. Instill in our hearts the courage to take concrete steps to achieve peace.
Lord, God of Abraham, God of the Prophets, God of Love, you created us and you call us to live as brothers and sisters. Give us the strength daily to be instruments of peace; enable us to see everyone who crosses our path as our brother or sister. Make us sensitive to the plea of our citizens who entreat us to turn our weapons of war into implements of peace, our trepidation into confident trust, and our quarreling into forgiveness.
Keep alive within us the flame of hope, so that with patience and perseverance we may opt for dialogue and reconciliation. In this way may peace triumph at last, and may the words “division”, “hatred” and “war” be banished from the heart of every man and woman. Lord, defuse the violence of our tongues and our hands. Renew our hearts and minds, so that the word which always brings us together will be “brother”, and our way of life will always be that of: Shalom, Peace, Salaam!
Amen.
God Bless each of us 🙏💕
Note: Xavier Reyes-Ayra’s discussion https://www.lifesitenews.com/episodes/israels-fate-catholic-prophecy-and-the-start-of-world-war-3/?utm_source=featured_video&utm_campaign=usa gives a good overview of Israel and Hamas war/conflict.
Aside: The main point I want to make is to move beyond inherited hate and boundaries, the world (us) needs the help of the Holy Spirit in letting go of all the baggage carried from one generation to the next. A fresh start in love and acceptance without power-play, pride and arrogance.
