It’s 7:00 am in the morning and there is a quiet solitude as I gaze at the Christmas decor already set up at Mary Queen of the world Cathedral (https://diocesemontreal.org/en/lets-connect/churches-parishes/mary-queen-world-cathedral).
She stands majestically right in the heart of downtown Montreal all decked out for the Christmas season.

I love the glitter of lights in the early morning when the sun is just rising. This is how I start each Monday. I spend 30 min in quiet reflection, prayer and silence before the 7:30 am Mass. Once a month (Monday) Father Alain Vaillancourt is available at 7:00 am to hear confessions.
My Monday morning routine has become an important part of my spiritual walk with God. Sometimes it’s a struggle to get out of bed and out the door! I know when I feel like I don’t want to go, I need to get to church. It’s Satans way of messing with my head!
When I am sitting quietly in adoration before God, I realize that the struggle is just a little wrestling match with the evil one. It is an easy win because, “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me” Galatians 2:20.

Praise be to God💕🙏
Finding the routine in our walk with God is different for each of us. I have the most energy in the morning. By 8:00 pm, I’m tired and fall asleep by 9:00 pm. I am a morning person, so it is easier for me to time pray, read scripture, and sit in silence. Mass and the Eucharist gives me the spiritual boast and strength I need to start my day – work, children, parents and colleagues.
I pray you each find your special time with God 💕🙏
