“Only Say the Word”
Introduction
This morning, my heart turned to the past, tracing the steps of my journey toward God. Through every season, He placed guides to light my path. In childhood, Mrs. Dorothy Norman, a kind Christian librarian, recommended books that stirred my soul and welcomed me for tea, where her husband, a Canadian World War II veteran, shared stories of faith. In high school, Mr. McLean, my art teacher, saw goodness in me even when I stumbled—once pulling me aside after I arrived to class intoxicated, offering wisdom and after-school art lessons to ease my teenage struggles. His church youth group became a refuge, keeping me from trouble. At university, Professor Trott introduced me to his Anglican church and the Alpha group, where my husband, our newborn son, and I grew in faith. There, my son and I were baptized, a sacred milestone. In my thirties, Grace, a respected colleague, touched my heart with her radiant faith in God, while Enza, my sponsor, guided me into the Catholic Church, a homecoming of grace. In my senior years, Reta, my spiritual director, led me deeper into God’s love through weekly counsel. At every turn, God’s hand was evident, guiding and protecting me through mentors and moments of grace. With a grateful heart, I sing to the Lord who heals and redeems.

Only Say the Word
Verse 1
As a child, I ran to You, my heart so pure and free,
Adored Your name, O Lord, Your light was all I’d see.
Beneath Your cross, I knelt, Your love my soul would keep,
Lamb of God, You held me close, in grace so wide and deep.
Chorus
Lord, I’m not worthy, yet You come to make me whole,
Only say the word, my Savior, and You heal my soul.
Lamb of God, Your mercy flows, Your blood has set me free,
I praise Your name, O Jesus, for Your love surrounding me.
Verse 2
In my youth, I turned away, chased shadows of the world,
Sought empty truths, O Lord, where pride and doubt were hurled.
Through Sartre’s lens, I wandered far, in darkness I did roam,
Yet Your hand was reaching still, to call Your child back home.
Chorus
Lord, I’m not worthy, yet You come to make me whole,
Only say the word, my Savior, and You heal my soul.
Lamb of God, Your mercy flows, Your blood has set me free,
I praise Your name, O Jesus, for Your love surrounding me.
Verse 3
By Your grace, You led me back, through mentors, signs, and love,
Each moment showed Your hand, Your guidance from above.
Serendipity divine, Your voice in every call,
Now my heart is Yours again, my King, my All in All.
Chorus
Lord, I’m not worthy, yet You come to make me whole,
Only say the word, my Savior, and You heal my soul.
Lamb of God, Your mercy flows, Your blood has set me free,
I praise Your name, O Jesus, for Your love surrounding me.
Bridge
Through every step, You taught my heart to see,
Your faithful love has never let me be.
With guides and grace, You drew me to Your throne,
Now I sing, O Lord, to You alone.
Chorus
Lord, I’m not worthy, yet You come to make me whole,
Only say the word, my Savior, and You heal my soul.
Lamb of God, Your mercy flows, Your blood has set me free,
I praise Your name, O Jesus, for Your love surrounding me.
Outro
I praise Your name, O Jesus, for Your love surrounding me.
