The Humble Light: A Meditation on the Nativity
Today, the newborn Jesus rests
nestled in Mary’s blossoming arms,
wrapped in swaddling clothes,
laid in a manger—
humble King, born not in palace gold
but in a world of chaos and Herod’s rage
(Luke 2:7; Matthew 2:13–16).
He came as one of us,
the Word made flesh,
full of grace and truth
(John 1:14),
to taste our joys and sorrows,
clothed in true humanity.
He is the Light shining in darkness,
that darkness cannot overcome
(John 1:5).
“I am the way, the truth, and the life,”
the bridge to the Father
(John 14:6).
One with the Father and the Holy Spirit—
Triune God, eternal and true
(Matthew 28:19).
Praise be to God!
For this Child born in Bethlehem,
Christ the Lord
(Luke 2:11),
pure heart unstained by sin,
the new Adam restoring all
(Romans 5:18–19).
Glory to God in the highest,
and peace on earth to those He loves
(Luke 2:14).
Merry Christmas 💕🙏
