And if a novena feels like too much right now, you can simply pray the traditional Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel. Sometimes one small prayer, offered faithfully, is enough.

Prayer to the Three Archangels
Pray this each day.
St. Michael the Archangel,
you are Prince of the heavenly host and victor over the ancient dragon. God has given you strength to cast down the pride of the powers of darkness.
Defend the Church, our families, and every soul in danger. Fight beside us. Obtain for us true humility and unshakable fidelity to the will of God.
St. Gabriel the Archangel,
you are the angel of the Incarnation and the faithful messenger of God.
Open our ears to the smallest signs and invitations of the Lord’s loving Heart. Remain before our eyes, that we may understand His Word, obey it, and do what He asks of us.
St. Raphael the Archangel,
you are God’s remedy, guide of Tobias, and companion of travelers.
Preserve us from every danger of body and soul. Heal what is wounded in us, guide our steps when the way is unclear, and lead us safely home to heaven.
Holy Archangels Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael,
stand with your angels beside us.
Help us and pray for us.

St. Michael, slay pride and hidden sin in our hearts. Give us strength to reject every snare of the devil.
Day 3 — September 22
A Listening Heart
St. Gabriel, open our ears as you opened Mary’s. Help us hear God’s Word and say “yes” without delay.
Day 4 — September 23
Healing of Body, Mind, and Relationships
St. Raphael, touch what is wounded. Restore health, peace in families, and clarity of mind.
Day 5 — September 24
Courage to Live and Speak the Truth
Holy Archangels, give us the bravery of Michael, the clarity of Gabriel, and the gentle strength of Raphael.
Day 6 — September 25
Guidance on the Road We Are Walking
St. Raphael, companion of travelers, show us the next faithful step. Do not let us wander.
Day 7 — September 26
Protection of the Unborn, the Sick, and the Dying
Holy Archangels, defend every vulnerable life. Be present at the hour of death.

Perseverance Until the End
Keep us faithful in prayer, in duty, and in love, that we may not grow weary.

A Holy Death and Safe Passage to God

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host,
by the power of God,
cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits
who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.

Novena Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel
For those who would also like to pray the longer St. Michael novena prayer:
Saint Michael the Archangel, loyal champion of God and His people, I turn to you with confidence and seek your powerful intercession. For the love of God, Who made you so glorious in grace and power, and for the love of the Mother of Jesus, the Queen of the Angels, be pleased to hear my prayer.
You know the value of my soul in the eyes of God. May no stain of evil ever disfigure its beauty. Help me to conquer the evil spirit who tempts me. I desire to imitate your loyalty to God and Holy Mother Church and your great love for God and people.
And since you are God’s messenger for the care of His people, I entrust to you this special request:

Saint Michael, since you are, by the will of the Creator, the powerful intercessor of Christians, I have great confidence in your prayers. I earnestly trust that, if it is God’s holy will, my petition will be granted.

Through your powerful intercession, may we live a holy life, die a happy death, and reach Heaven, where we may praise and love God with you forever.
