Reflections on faith, hope, and the quiet journey with Christ

I almost forgot to tell you about this one. “Still Here” released on October 1, and it deserves its moment — a ballad that grew from the language of the Psalms.

Still Here — Still Becoming

Still Here grew from the language of the Psalms—the valley of the shadow of death, green pastures and still waters, the terror of night, the arrow that flies by day, and the earth trembling beneath our feet.

Psalm 23, Psalm 91, and Psalm 46 do not pretend that fear, danger, or uncertainty disappear when we walk with God. They speak from within them.

That became the heart of this song.

The shadows may remember our name. Old fears may still stir. The earth beneath us may sometimes feel uncertain. Yet there are also green pastures, still waters, butterflies rising from the field, and light after the storm.

And above it all, the reminder of covenant: God remains.

Perhaps faith is sometimes as simple as continuing to walk.

Still here.

Still becoming.

Still held.

For You are with me.

A line to carry with you: “Still here. Still becoming. Still held.”
