I have also been sensing a greater force at work in our “universe”. That is an awareness of a real spiritual battle taking place in our world – unseen but felt – a battle between good and evil is the easiest way for me to explain this. The heavy aura from this spiritual battle is creating a negative energy that is adding to my moodiness and temperament. With every argument, and combative stance I take, I am feeding these demons within and without. How do I stop it – I stop! Instead of being confrontational or itching to get my point across, I stop, count to 3, and go into the bedroom and pray. I take a spiritual “time out”! I seek out the grace of God to forgive me. I ask for the Holy Spirit to flush out all the negative emotions I feel and heal me.
If you have been feeling like this, you are not alone.
A word of encouragement for those of you who are having similar trials – stop and pray. When I feel emotionally down, I don’t let it crush me my morale – I pray and put my trust in Jesus. With Jesus in my heart and through sincere prayer, I can shoo away the negative energy.
Prayer and quiet time with God is paramount for our well being.
When we find ourselves falling into Satan’s traps, we must step back and seek the grace and mercy of God to cast the demons out with the breath of the Holy Spirit.
Proverbs 3 came to mind today. The words of King Solomon is wise!
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not rely on your own insight.
6 In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.
7 Be not wise in your own eyes;
fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.
8 It will be healing to your flesh
and refreshment to your bones.
Through prayer, I share with Jesus my thanksgiving, joys and concerns. Praying the Rosary lets me mediate upon his life and journey as an infant to His death on the cross. I have also started to include praying the Chaplet of The Divine Mercy. This prayer lets me pray for others – my family, my community and my world.
