Today’s Meditation
“This world is filled with many vulgar and dishonorable things that will claw and tear at your Christian purity if you allow them to. Don’t let them! Seek instead the things of God. He will purify you and free you from your slavery to profane and inconsequential things.”
—Patrick Madrid, p. 1

Thought of the Day
“Whenever anything disagreeable or displeasing happens to you, remember Christ crucified and be silent.”
–St. John of the Cross
Each day brings new graces and healing from our Heavenly Father. In the past few days, I have felt sad at all the craziness around me – I lost my cool yesterday because I didn’t read the directions on how to renew my medical card and as a result didn’t bring the proper identification; the back and forth communication with my workplace about my schedule; the rain and storm warnings (yes, it effects my mood); and the day to day.
Just when I think I have reached a point in my spiritual journey where I can sit in silent prayer, and just as I have managed to shut off the noisy din, new situations crop up.

As a Christian there is an ongoing spiritual battle we are drawn into. There is also the awareness of discerning between desolation and consolation. We are able to minimize much of this chaos through the grace of God. There are times when extra reinforcement is needed. This is where the lives and experiences of past saints help. Their challenges, experiences and walk with Jesus are well documented and are an invaluable tool. The abundance of these resources and discourses aid us in our walk with Jesus. We realize we are not alone.
Sometimes it’s a quote that especially touches the core of our soul. At other times, it’s a gentle reminder, or a huge nudge. These are all through the grace of God as he moves within us. God speak to us. Saints play an important role in our Catholic lives and spiritual journey. There is no experience they have not experienced in their own Holy journey. They speak to us through the hand of God – to guide and teach us to be better human beings.

Praise be to God.
Thank you for your nudge!
Have a Blessed Day 🙏💖
